About the Role
You will report to the Head of Engineering.
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer, DevOps, to define and drive the infrastructure and delivery foundations behind Timo&039;s digital banking platform.
In this role, you will own Timo&039;s DevOps strategy, building and scaling the infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational practices that power our production, QA, and development environments. You will set the technical direction for reliability, deployment, and cloud efficiency.
What You Will Do
Optimize cloud costs while ensuring scalable, performant infrastructure
Mentor senior engineers and help drive adoption of DevOps best practices across the organization
Define and drive Timo&039;s DevOps strategy: infrastructure, deployment, observability, and cloud efficiency
Partner with Engineering, Security, and Compliance to ensure infrastructure meets banking- grade reliability and security requirements
Standardize Infrastructure as Code practices: Terraform, Ansible, Packer across Timo&039;s engineering teams
Drive DORA metrics improve lead time for changes, deployment frequency, time to restore service, and change failure rate
Architect and maintain stable, secure, and efficient infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments
Lead CI/CD and GitOps practices from build, packaging, and deployment pipelines through to continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For
Experience
Experience driving infrastructure strategy and standards across multiple engineering teams
8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering, with prior experience in a Principal, Staff, or technical leadership role
Proven track record of operating production systems at scale, ideally in fintech, banking, or another regulated environment
Skills & Expertise
Professional working English: Collaboration with Timo&039;s local and Kredivo&039;s regional teams
Strong experience with CI/CD and GitOps: GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, Helm Charts/Helmfile
Proficient in scripting and automation: Bash, Python (or Go/Java for tooling)
Familiarity with secrets management (HashiCorp Vault) and infrastructure security best practices
Experience supporting databases and messaging systems at scale
Deep expertise in container orchestration, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm
Experience with public cloud platforms: AWS preferred
Hands- on with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, Packer
Strong understanding of observability: logging, tracing, and monitoring
Attributes
Comfortable shaping direction in ambiguous, fast- moving environments
Builds influence through technical credibility, not authority
Strong sense of ownership and operational rigor: you treat reliability as a first- class engineering concern
Pragmatic: balances long- term architecture with short- term delivery
Bonus Points
Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated industries
Hands- on with cloud cost optimization at scale
Background in Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevEx teams
