Mô tả Công việc
Job Purpose:The Chief Accountant is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the company. This role ensures compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), Vietnamese tax regulations, and the internal reporting requirements of the joint venture shareholders (US and Malaysia). The Chief Accountant safeguards the financial integrity of the company and provides accurate, timely management information to support strategic decision-making by the Board of Directors and Finance leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
A. Financial Management & Reporting
1. Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations of the Finance & Accounting Department to
achieve departmental and company objectives.
2. Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash
Flow) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with VAS and joint venture reporting standards.
3. Prepare and submit management reports, including consolidated financial reports, variance analysis, and
ad-hoc reports to the Finance Controller, Finance Director, and Shareholders (Ashley Furniture US and
Malaysian partner) on schedule.
4. Oversee cost accounting for foam manufacturing operations, including raw material costs, labor,
overhead, and finished goods inventory — ensuring accurate COGS calculation and margin reporting.
5. Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and banking facilities to ensure optimal liquidity for
manufacturing operations.
B. Tax & Statutory Compliance
6. Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax reports (VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT, Import/Export
duties) in compliance with Vietnamese tax law.
7. Manage the annual Corporate Income Tax (CIT) finalization and negotiate with the Tax Authority during
tax audits to achieve optimal tax outcomes for the company.
8. Stay current with changes in Vietnamese tax regulations and accounting standards, advising
management on impacts and required adjustments.
9. Maintain and manage transfer pricing documentation in compliance with current statutory regulations for
related-party transactions.
C. Audit & Internal Controls
10.Coordinate and liaise with internal auditors (from Ashley Furniture US / shareholder group) and external
independent auditors to ensure unqualified audit opinions are issued annually.
11.Implement and maintain a robust internal control framework covering financial processes, inventory
management, fixed assets, and procurement in the foam manufacturing environment.
12.Proactively identify and mitigate financial and compliance risks; implement corrective actions as
recommended by auditors.
D. Treasury & Banking
13.Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for trade finance, letters of credit (LC), loan
facilities, and foreign currency transactions.
14.Oversee foreign currency risk management for import transactions and export transactions, advising
management on hedging strategies when required.
E. People Management & Development
15.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8 accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture focused on
accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
16.Establish clear KPIs for the team, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs to build
departmental capability.
17.Drive process improvement and automation initiatives within the accounting function using ERP systems
and digital tools.
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
Qualifications:
Technical Skills
▪ Deep expertise in Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and Vietnamese Tax Law (VAT, CIT, PIT,
FCT, Import Duties).
▪ Solid understanding of IFRS / US GAAP principles for shareholder reporting purposes.
▪ Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management in a manufacturing environment (standard
costing, BOM, WIP).
▪ Familiarity with AI-powered finance tools and automation (Power BI, RPA tools, or equivalent) is a plus.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
▪ Strong people management and team leadership capability, with a coaching mindset.
▪ Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing
environment.
▪ Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
▪ High integrity, professional ethics, and sound judgment in dealing with confidential financial information.
