As an Engineering Manager for Axon Evidence Local, you’ll lead a team delivering highly secure and performant solutions that support public safety globally. Your work will directly impact agencies around the world, contributing to Axon’s broader mission to protect truth and accelerate justice.
You’re driven by a passion for building high-performing engineering teams and tackling the toughest challenges in public safety - always with an unwavering focus on regulatory, security, and compliance needs. You’ll recruit, develop, and inspire a high performance, customer-obsessed team while fostering a strong, positive engineering culture. You’ll work closely with product and design to understand customer outcomes and turn them into scalable, secure, and reliable capabilities. And you’ll bring the technical depth and forward-thinking vision needed to guide architecture, elevate engineering excellence. This role balances growing exceptional people with the ability to lead them through strong technical insight.
What You’ll Do
Work Location: This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh City office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. - Build and lead a high-performance engineering team in Ho Chi Minh City, developing talent, mentoring future leaders, and creating an environment where AI-enabled engineering excellence thrives.
- Drive end-to-end technical execution for major product initiatives, roadmap-defining features, and contract-critical capabilities - from large-scale deployments and advanced security to device interoperability and cloud/on-prem hybrid operational workflows.
- Drive the scalability, resilience, and reliability of a mission-critical platform, ensuring it performs flawlessly from small single-server agencies to complex, multi-node, large-scale environments supporting thousands of devices and real time capabilities.
- Collaborate deeply across Axon’s global engineering organization, advocating for the needs of AEL, influencing cross-team architecture, and driving alignment on shared outcomes.
- Partner with product and global cross-functional stakeholders to define the roadmap, priorities, and key customer requirements, balancing feature development with operational excellence.
- Oversee operational and on-call processes, own production health, escalations, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
- Champion a deep understanding of customer workflows, pain points, and operational environments, ensuring engineering decisions are grounded in real-world use cases.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience (ideally in product-focused environments).
- 3+ years as an engineering manager/lead, including direct people management and development.
- Demonstrated experience in architectural design and distributed systems, paired with a deep focus on resiliency engineering, operational excellence, and architectural vision.
- Proven success leading teams to deliver complex, ambiguous projects on time and to spec.
- Demonstrated ability to improve engineering processes across security, quality, releases, and incident management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with global teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience scaling and refining customer-deployed systems for reliability, availability, and maintainability.
- Experience working with distributed or hybrid (cloud/on-prem) engineering teams.
- Background in digital evidence, video processing, or mission-critical enterprise SaaS/DEMS.
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers, building cohesive teams, and fostering high-performance cultures.

Đội ngũ giảng viên
Axon hiện quy tụ một lực lượng giáo viên giàu kinh nghiệm và tâm huyết với nghề với nhiều giáo viên giỏi, xuất sắc. Bên cạnh thành viên đồng sáng lập kiêm Giám Đốc Đào Tạo của trung tâm - thầy Georgios Alexopoulos với hơn 10 năm kinh nghiệm giảng dạy cho trẻ em và thiếu nhi tại nhiều quốc gia, các giảng viên khác tại Axon đều được áp dụng quy trình tuyển dụng chuyên nghiệp và nghiêm ngặt. Lâm Đồng là một tỉnh thuộc vùng Tây Nguyên Việt Nam, nổi tiếng với khí hậu mát mẻ quanh năm và trung tâm du lịch lớn là thành phố Đà Lạt. Tỉnh có địa hình cao nguyên, nhiều rừng thông, thác nước và hồ đẹp, được mệnh danh là “thành phố ngàn hoa”. Kinh tế Lâm Đồng phát triển mạnh ở các lĩnh vực du lịch, nông nghiệp công nghệ cao, chế biến nông sản và dịch vụ.
