Job Description
Get to Know the Team
Grab Legal team is a group of lawyers and specialists coming from multiple countries all over the world, who are supportive with managers allowing some level of independence. Our Vietnam team is made of 5 members who report to Regional Legal Group and are taking care of the entire Vietnam' platform and financial businesses.
Get to Know the Role
You will have experience in e-commerce, payments, finance or insurance legal practice, and in particular in dealing with government regulators and governance documentation based on the requirements of commercial, banking and financial services businesses.
You will report to Vietnam General Counsel and base in the HCMC office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Oversee the financial services regulatory licensing and compliance across departments, with an emphasis on banking regulations, marketing, and consumer protection laws related to such products and services, and working with regulators including State Bank of Vietnam on the same.
- Draft, advise and negotiate on commercial contracts related to our daily business, focusing on the following areas, including e-hailing and transportation, e-commerce & trading, enterprise and investment, merger and anti-trust.
- Daily support on legal advice and legal analysis to the Regional and Country partners on a broad range of issues such as matters relating to payment services, consumer protection, labor, litigations, safety and fraud, etc.
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance on the products (design and modification), identify associated risks and recommend mitigation strategies, review product user experiences to ensure legal compliance and proper disclosures;
- Develop and implement draft policies and guiding documents to enhance the compliance status across all businesses.
- Represent Grab's interests and interface directly with regulatory agencies and external counsel;
- Perform any other responsibilities or projects as assigned by the Regional and the management.
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Law and attorney admitted to practice in Vietnam.
- Corporate, legal and regulatory experience in financial and e-commerce services in Vietnam.
- 6+ years of experience, with a preferable of at least 3 years in-house counsel experience in multinational company.
- Familiarity with the development of AML/CFT related compliance requirements;
- Have commitment to travel within and on short notice, in Vietnam or in SEA
- Understand the business, commercial requirements, our strategies and directions, its people and its organizational structures;
- Awareness of legal and commercial risks and the ability to balance such risks against business benefits, with appropriate mitigation measures taken;

Lịch sử thành lập
- Năm 2014, Grab ra mắt dịch vụ gọi xe kéo theo mô hình "GrabTaxi" tại Việt Nam, bắt đầu cung cấp dịch vụ gọi xe qua ứng dụng điện thoại di động.
- Năm 2015, Grab mở rộng hoạt động tại thành phố Hồ Chí Minh.
- Năm 2017, Grab mua lại Uber tại khu vực Đông Nam Á, gồm cả Việt Nam, trở thành nhà cung cấp dịch vụ gọi xe hàng đầu tại thị trường Việt Nam.
- Năm 2018, Grab mở rộng dịch vụ "GrabFood" vào tháng 6, đưa vào hoạt động cung cấp đồ ăn đến tận nhà cho khách hàng.
- Năm 2020, Grab khai trương Grab Ventures Velocity tại TP.HCM, là trung tâm khởi nghiệp công nghệ với mục tiêu hỗ trợ và đẩy mạnh phát triển các công ty mới trong lĩnh vực công nghệ và dịch vụ di động.
- Năm 2021, Grab công bố kế hoạch IPO (Initial Public Offering) để niêm yết trên Sàn giao dịch chứng khoán Mỹ Nasdaq, trở thành một công ty niêm yết công khai.
- Hiện tại, Grab tiếp tục mở rộng hoạt động không chỉ trong lĩnh vực gọi xe, mà còn tập trung vào các dịch vụ khác như giao hàng, dịch vụ thanh toán di động, giao thông thông minh và các giải pháp công nghệ khác.
