SCOPE

Responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests during the assigned shift, according to the prescribed recipes and procedures. Serve and attend to all guest needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Is responsible for looking after allocated sections or duties as set out by the Restaurant Manager and for the preparation of beverages from the bar in the accepted procedure.

• Is required to know all basic ingredients, method of preparation and presentation of all items on the outlet menu.

• Is familiar with the prices of food and beverages sold in the outlet.

• Promptly relays any customer complaints to the outlet manager or supervisor.

• Performs all opening and closing duties of the outlet as required.

• Ensures all beverage par stock levels are maintained.

• Ensure that all stock are balanced at the end of every shift (bar stock report and inter bar/kitchen transfers are completed)

• Check and ensure that all beverage items are not expired.

• Ensure hygiene levels of the bar, stock and equipments at all times.

• To promote, sell and serve food and beverage items available in the hotel to guests

• Washes the Bar glasses and equipments. Handles the Bar fixtures for polishing, removing empty bottles, transporting ice and collecting stock items from the Store.

• Replenishes bar supplies such as liquor, fruits and garnishes.

• Collects and transports dirty and clean dishes to and from dishwashing area.

• Assists in the slicing and squeezing of fruits to be used as garnishes.
