• Responsible for the effective management of the department’s administration practices i.e. hotel recruitment, terms & conditions of employment, staffing and the labor market, training and development, employee benefits & welfare, workplace environment.

• Ensure all employees are bound in accordance with the respective statutory requirements, the hotel policies, budget and all other legal considerations.

• Development and implement employee training & development programs, ensuring employees have an opportunity to learn & growth in their job.

• Keep abreast of all labor related laws and regulations, training and manpower developments, trends in the labor market and developments in other Hotels.

• Respect the professional requirements for the confidentiality of information entrusted to him/her, including the safeguarding of information about individual employees.

• Develop, upgrade, modify employees welfare and benefit programs in accordance with the law or as stated by management.

• Conduct career and other counseling to any employee who might seek his/her advise.

• Ensure the hotel pay-scale is in line with the industry average and submit recommendations for any alterations.

• Prepare documents/information for the annual budget.

• Constantly update professional skills and knowledge in respect of new learning and legislation in the Human Resources field with consideration on the impact of technological, economic and social change on people at work.

• Ensure that existing and potential employees are given full and accurate information concerning employment with the hotel.

• Revise hotel policies and manuals as and when necessary ensuring the hotel remains in line with corporate strategy and legal requirements.

• Analyze and report the causes of staff turnover, recommending improvements to reduce turnover.

• Assist staff discipline, take necessary action against staff on mis-behaviour and supervise staff attitude/appearance.

• Arrange staff evaluation, performance appraisal and design succession planning for healthy growth of staff throughout the hotel.

• Update manning guides with the Department Heads ensuring manning levels remain consistent to the hotel trading performance.

• Advise Management in establishing sound compensation, recognition schemes and fringe benefits package.

• Implement an annual medical check for hotel staff in accordance with government regulations.

• Maintain close working relationship with competitor hotel’s Human Resources Managers.

• Thoroughly check all reports before sending to Government authorization

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A diploma or degree qualification. Good English.

Experience: Hotel-related experience desired
