Purpose of the position:

Cambodia has the potential to become an important source of the raw material (RCN, Raw Cashew Nuts) for the company. The cashew production has grown considerably over the last years. The cashew sector in Cambodia is still under development, creating opportunities but as well exposures to all stakeholders.

The RCN Buyer plays a functional role in the Procurement organization. He supports his superior, the Procurement Manager, to execute the operation plans in the assigned region. The Buyer is active in the field to establish relationships with farmer cooperatives, traders and other (strategic) partners and manages these relationships. And ensures efficient and competitive procurement of Raw Cashew Nuts (RCN) in Cambodia, while identifying new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

Buyer Responsibilities

· Prepare seasonal operational procurement plans for the assigned region together with the Procurement Manager. It includes as well arranging logistic service with Logistics Team and packaging material that must be used by the suppliers

· Negotiate and conclude purchase contracts with approved suppliers in line with the operational plans.

· Solve operational issues; take initiative to address these, engage subject matter experts within the company, lead the process so that solutions are reached.

· Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships with traders, suppliers and cooperatives.

· Monitor and analyse market trends, price developments, and harvest forecasts.

· Manage performance of suppliers in terms of price, volume, delivery, and quality.

· Perform end-season reconciliation with suppliers to ensure zero outstanding on cash and packaging material

Business Development

· Identify and assess new business opportunities in Cambodia such as supplier prospecting, that align with long-term procurement strategy and certification projects.

· Initiate and support origin development initiatives that increase sourcing resilience and improves supplier capacity.

· Contribute to existing strategic sourcing partnerships plans and suggest improvements based on field insights.

Education 

·       Graduate University degree in Business a/o Agriculture, Science, Sustainability

Experience

·       3+ years of experience in a similar role.

·       With agricultural commodities, preferably RCN

·       In a hands-on position, thinking and acting both strategic as well as tactical.

Language:

·       English & Khmer is the must
