About the Job:

WebMD is looking to fill a Software Developer position to design and implement new systems and features, as well as modify and maintain existing systems for adaptation to business and/or technology changes. The software developer engages directly with team leads, development teams and product owner to ensure the successful design, development, and delivery of our software solutions.

To be successful as a software developer, you should be able to drive the software change and release management processes, assisting with the overall maturity of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack
• Identify most complex software issues and come up with practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions
• Stay up-to-date on new technologies and vendor packages, evaluating and making recommendations as necessary.
• Keep us efficient with process improvements and best practices
• Mentor Associate Software Engineers to help with skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities
• Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management
• Document your knowledge, processes, and solutions for current and future WebMD team members.

Yêu cầu công việc

• The ability to demonstrate our values in an on-going and consistent way
• 3+ years of development experience with Ruby on Rails and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Open source project, experience in high volume/scale web apps, Solid TDD/BDD experience.
• Experience creating highly scalable solutions on Azure , AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Excellent communication skills - demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with care, especially regarding complex technical issues
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to look for non-obvious connections and creative solutions
