JOB SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained in accordance with Marriott brand standards and hotel policies. The role supervises housekeeping associates, assigns daily work, monitors productivity and quality standards, conducts room inspections, and ensures all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and on time. The Housekeeping Supervisor supports the training, coaching, and development of associates while fostering a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented working environment. The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures compliance with all company policies, departmental procedures, safety regulations, and emergency protocols. This includes maintaining a safe and secure working environment, reporting accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, and security concerns promptly, safeguarding hotel assets and confidential information, and ensuring all associates maintain professional grooming and appearance standards.
The position is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by anticipating guest needs, responding promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and complaints, and coordinating with Front Office, Engineering, Security, Concierge, and other departments to ensure timely resolution of guest issues. The Housekeeping Supervisor follows up on guest requests to ensure satisfaction, recognizes guest preferences, assists guests with special needs, updates guest information in relevant hotel systems where applicable, and supports Marriott Bonvoy service standards and guest engagement initiatives. The role monitors room status and housekeeping progress to ensure rooms are available according to operational requirements, coordinates special room setups and guest amenities, manages housekeeping supplies, linen, equipment, and Lost & Found procedures, and reports maintenance defects for prompt corrective action. The Housekeeping Supervisor also maintains accurate operational records, prepares daily reports and shift documentation, communicates important operational information during shift handovers, and ensures effective communication among team members and other hotel departments.
In addition, the Housekeeping Supervisor provides operational support to management by organizing daily staffing, monitoring performance, coaching associates, encouraging continuous improvement, promoting teamwork, and ensuring departmental goals, service standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved. The role also requires the ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling housekeeping supplies and equipment throughout the work shift, while carrying out any other reasonable duties assigned by management to support the successful operation of the department.
Education: High school diploma
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
License or Certification: Food Safety certification course
