Job Summary
• As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the development, design, and expansion of our unified data platform. You will be relied on as a data expert across teams, and will work closely with other engineers, contributing to systems in all phases of the data lifecycle from ingestion through to persistence and analytics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Produces code that is clear/simple, modular, loosely coupled, of low complexity, cleanly documented, meets requirements and is testable.
• Frequently contributes to and reviews code in important, core and complex components and frameworks.
• Demonstrates strong ability and influences others to choose proper off the shelf software frameworks and libraries when needed. Identifies complexities that can be broken out into reusable components.
• Understands the testing approach and uses quality metrics to identify gaps. Works with the department to recommend solutions that are in accordance with the accepted testing framework and testing pyramid. Champions department wide testing strategy.
• Designs, documents, and builds simple and scalable solutions for complex problems with elegant and reusable architectures resulting in modular multi-system services, functions, or workflows that are resilient, maintainable, easy to monitor and pioneer best practices for engineers.
• Demonstrates strong ability to and influences others to build, reuse existing or license new technology components. Demonstrates examples of departmental transformation through new patterns/principals in system design. Has a significant financial or efficiency impact across the department.
• Ensures cross-team dependencies are noted and well understood by teams involved and other relevant stakeholders.
• When taking action, weights cost and value in order to take the most economic action.
• Ensures expectations and commitments with their team and stakeholders.
• Anticipates and communicates blockers and delays within their team’s projects before escalating.
• Requires an individual to maintain the ability to work in an environment with PHI / PII data
• May be assigned other duties.
• Must maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Yêu Cầu Công Việc

• Experience (at least 6 years) in web application development using MERN stack technologies.
• Advanced ReactJS and front-end development work.
• Experience in creating RESTFUL API using Node.JS
• Experience in SQL and No SQL (Mongo DB)
• Experience in HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap
• Experience in Linux
• Experience in Version Control – GIT & Continuous Integration – Jenkins
• Experience in working in AGILE with tools like JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, etc.
• Strong experience in cloud such as AWS
• Knowledge and experience on HIPAA and HITECH
• At least 3 years’ experience in backend software development, including designing and developing data pipelines and APIs.
• Experience in data-driven design, database architecture, and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines with a focus on loose coupling and end-to-end data lifecycle management.
• Must have an understanding of high level concepts and industry standards in data lake/warehouse/lake-house management, including data cataloging, data governance, data quality, data observability, best practices in data persistence and leveraging data to drive analytics for business use.
• Must have working knowledge of distributed systems & micro-services architectures.
• Must have working knowledge of highly scalable distributed and cloud native databases.
• Bachelors of Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience, professional certification preferred.
• Must have experience in technical leadership and ownership of software components and code bases.
• Must have experience leading and guiding other engineers.
• Must have excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Strong knowledge in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and user defined functions.
• Strong experience in Python.
• Experience in standard GIT process, and working knowledge of using CI/CD pipelines for automating testing and deploys.
• Nice to have working knowledge of Snowflake and Apache Kafka or equivalents.
