THE ROLE

National law enforcement agencies actively seek new approaches and partnerships to enhance their future-readiness to prevent, detect, investigate, and disrupt transnational crime syndicates. Since 2005, RMIT has provided learning opportunities which positively shape the future generation of police, immigration, border control and customs officials to enable them to advance efforts to lead innovation and proactively counter transnational crime and the illicit movement of people and goods.

The Facilitator - Transnational Security Training (TST) joins an active team which provides high-level coordination and facilitation of RMIT Vietnam’s TST programs targeting the international law enforcement community (primarily emerging and developing leaders responsible for leading responses to transnational crime) in the Asia Pacific region. This role requires excellence in curriculum design and delivery, commitment to transformative learning approaches, high-level client engagement skills, proficiency in all aspects of program management, and a robust understanding of international law enforcement and the transnational crime landscape.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Engaging in all aspects of Transnational Security Training (TST) education delivery, client liaison and program management.

• Initiating new training opportunities to further the TST objectives, and supporting the development of RMIT’s industry engagement activities.

• Contributing to the design of specialist curriculum and educational tools to advance participant learning outcomes and capabilities relating to law enforcement and transnational crime management and leadership.

• Delivering interactive training programs in online and face-to-face learning environments, and supporting participant engagement and welfare to cultivate personal and professional growth.

• Coordinating pre-program administration, training delivery, and post-program reporting.

• Evaluating program outcomes and advising clients on proposed quality improvements.

• Nurturing relationships with RMIT’s extensive network of TST alumni around the world, and engaging with international partners to secure guest speaker involvement.

• Writing official correspondence, speeches, talking points and media communications.

• Collaborating as an active member of a highly mobile training team.

• Perform other related duties and tasks as agreed by the Strategic Advisor, Engagement.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience in a similar role.

• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation with a commitment to continual improvement.

• Demonstrated experience in facilitating interactive training programs for adult learners.

• Demonstrated program management skills.

• Demonstrated experience working in an international context including the Asia Pacific region with outstanding client relationship management skills and an ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to manage a small administration team and experience working as part of a highly mobile and independent team.

• Exceptional interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, and highly proficient writing skills, including written proposals and reports.

• Demonstrated expertise relating to law enforcement and transnational crime.

• Ability to display appropriate behaviors in line with the position and RMIT Values.

• Competitive remuneration package in USD (for expatriate candidates/VND package for Vietnamese candidates).

• Relocation allowance of USD $6000 with support to relocate overseas candidate (and family) from home location to Vietnam for expatriates applying outside Vietnam.

Further Info

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 6.5 (General) (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

As an expatriate candidate you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ related experience.
