The Opportunity

Our client is a leading food manufacturer in Australia and New Zealand, with a workforce of over 6,000 employees operating across 40 sites. Committed to innovation and quality, they play a vital role in delivering high-quality products to millions of consumers.

As a Machine Learning Data Engineer, this role drives advanced analytics by developing and integrating machine learning models and data pipelines, delivering high-value predictive solutions to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes for machine learning inputs and outputs.
Analyzing complex data, resolving data issues, and collaborating with analysts and users to validate requirements.
Providing analytical support to the BI team and investigating internal and external data sources.
Designing, building, and documenting integrations using appropriate patterns and conceptual designs.
Managing schedules, reporting on data completeness, and monitoring performance across the integration environment.
Identifying and enhancing integration performance, including suggesting new data sets.
Performing unit, performance, data quality, and regression testing.
Maintaining integration tool administration and security.
Troubleshooting issues and managing vendor communications.
Developing data models for BI visualizations, including machine learning outputs.
Promoting data governance best practices, coaching stakeholders, and supporting data training.
Supporting machine learning use cases and collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers to drive BI initiatives and process improvements.
Partnering with stakeholders and IS teams to ensure effective project delivery and issue resolution.

Skills, Experience & Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5-10 years of industry experience in development, data integration tools, integration design, data modeling, and data transformations.
Proficient in Python and SQL coding.
Cloud Service experience: AWS SageMaker, TensorFlow, Kubeflow/MLflow (open to other tools).
Demonstrated resilience and adaptability to change.
Ability to support and guide others through change.
Strong understanding of how data analytics drives business benefits.
Up-to-date knowledge of emerging analytics and BI trends.
Comprehensive understanding of data modeling and data integration best practices.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
