JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading and executing trading activities for assigned agricultural commodities (e.g., sugar, rice, oil, corn) in both physical and futures markets. This role includes market development, relationship management, strategic planning, and risk control to maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with the company’s trading policies.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• Deeply understand trading products and markets.
• Lead and manage trading activities and operations, developing opportunities to extend the group's sourcing of agricultural products
• Keep up to date with developments in the global market and react positively and creatively to international economic and political developments;
• Understanding of the global supply chain and of the consumption of agricultural products; knowledge of the major sources of supplies worldwide, commodities grades and specifications, and markets; also, of the economic dynamics affecting the international movement of commodities.
• Formulate and implement the commodities trading policy, business plan, and budget
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, pricing opportunities, and potential trading strategies.
• Maintain strong personal relationships at the senior level with producers, consumers, processors, shippers, and financial institutions.
• Negotiate purchase and sales contracts with suppliers, customers, and counterparties.
• Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all support systems; all departments (Trading, Operations, Middle Office, Finance) are working in the same direction to support the trading business and provide constructive ideas
• Monitor and evaluate risk and ensure the legality of funds and the safety of goods; Ensure risk parameters are at all times abiding by the risk management policy/framework approved by the management; No credit risk unless agreed bythe Credit Committee and Management
• Assist independently or cooperatively in conducting bank credit, factoring facilities, and other trade-related financing works
• Understanding of commodities operations,s including production and processing methods and procedures, stocking and storage, transportation, port facilities, shipping, and financing methods like L/C etc.
• Ensure regular reporting to the Management on transactions, financial commitments, and profitability. Retain an overview and ultimately monitor the day-to-day trading activities

• Good in English, knowing Chinese is preferable
• Numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Intermediate to Advanced level on MS Office, and experience with CRM systems is preferable
• Excellent written and oral skills
• Ability to engage with team, customers, management, and sales
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to deliver reporting that informs strategic decisions
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability in problem-solving
